This is just for the food area called Ed & Shirley's upstairs on the 2nd floor... So the bf & I were super hungry and as we drove into town we saw on the awning the proclamation stating "Best Grub in Town"... so we decided to see if that was true. What I will say... this place is cheap! Pretty sure everything is $6 bucks or under. They make everything when you order it and it was pretty tasty. The bf got a 2.99 steak dinner with veggies and baked potato plus a side of wings. He really liked all of it. I got the $4 Bacon Cheeseburger and fries. It was also pretty damn good. The bun was those nice soft yellow ones and everything was cooked fresh and it came with lettuce, pickles, tomato and onion. We also got 2 sides of Ranch, only needed one since they were so big. The only downside was the ranch was kinda meh. But no biggie. Plus $1.50 Coronas for each of us. On to the downside... this place is TINY!! There are only 2 small tables and this whole place's decor screams dirty dive. The chairs seriously grossed me out a bit because they were so old and dark from wear and tear. The table we managed to grab was wobbly and I was worried about spilling my beer every 5 seconds. Also, there was only 1 guy taking care of all the food area and it got kind of busy. So the food took a while, but it was fresh and cheap so that made up for it I think. Some families came in with their kids, however, I wouldn't bring my kids in here. If we happen to come again I'll be getting that food to go and eat outside somewhere.

So here's the thing about Black Hawk Station... Frankly, it's one of my favorite casinos, even though it is VERY much a dive. The main reason for this is because as far as casinos in this area go, this and the other properties owned by the same couple give you the best bang for your buck. It is a coin casino, which means that hand pays start at only $100. While some might find that annoying, it's actually decent because with every jackpot won (AKA $100+), people get extras. They get free spins on a certain machine, entries into numerous cash drawings that seem to occur daily, and additional cash during certain hours of the day. Most importantly, though, this casino, along with the other properties owned by the Smiths, seems to run the best payback on slots: I believe the payback on most the machines is between 95 and 98 percent, which is about as good as it gets in Black Hawk. Some of the cons include: Inconsistent customer service (some employees are extremely personable and kind, and others are consistently rude) Very cramped space Same slots most of the time, which gets old No player's card, which means all extra benefits are usually only given to people winning jackpots, thus making it unfair to smaller bettors who play regularly

Old time charm, friendly staff, and not as crowded maybe because of the weather. THis place saved my vacation from being snowed in. Fitzgerald's was my favorite and their steaks superb. We made the drive the first day from Denver but they offer a shuttle from Aurora for $21 round trip then you have multple times to return and if you gamble enough certain casinos pay your trip.

I will never go to this casino ever, The slot machine,s are old and out dated as well tighter than the Denver Mint. The food was horrible the Prime Rib was super dry ( yuck) . Never Again.....

You could do a lot worse for a $2.99 steak dinner. For the price, it really can't be beat. I got a thin piece of steak (on par of what you might get at a Golden Corral or Country Buffet) that had a nice Montreal-style seasoning on it. There was also a vegetable, a baked potato, and a multi-grain roll. Its not going to be Prime-grade beef and you shouldn't expect that going in.

My husband and I saw the 2.99 prime rib sign, and we wanted a cheap dinner. Is a very old building and it said that the dinner was upstairs so we proceeded up the old wooden stairs... At the top of the stairs were even more slot machines. I saw one café table with two seats in which one person was already sitting.. And some guy flipping burgers on the other side. I'm sure it might be good, but we didn't stay to try the food.
